Biak Island, PAPUA 💯💋😎

Island hoping 3 months 3 weeks

Gorgeous Papua country on the Island of Biak. I am not one for war but I am one for a country that should be free. So I will stand on saying it is Papua land and not Indonesia. They to me are two total different worlds. Hope you enjoy my blog of this beautiful small island full of jungle and beaches of nothing but beauty with the nicest people. Free Papua 💯💋

This is the airport of Jayapura👇🏼 Awesome culture they hold here. A must see.

This hotel is not the cheapest but you won’t find anything any better. Me and my girl went all around town and checked out all ten hotels. We stayed at agung hotel for 440,000 and you get an outstanding bed and room with breakfast and dinner included that was amazing. We stayed here five days. If you count for two people eating super good food as you can see in the picture 👇🏼 it is well worth it. Their is only like two couchsurfers on the whole island and maybe they can accept but if come with two or more people you can’t beat the price. Their is a hotel by the airport called Asana and it is by far the best but it cost much more. These two are your best choice or of course you could stay or camp with the locals as they are prolly some of the nicest people I have meet on my travels.

The food was cooked different every meal but it was a regular chicken, fish, vegetables and something else. But the food was delicious for sure.

The room service was astonished as I just asked for some soap and couple towels and they brought me this. The WiFi was very spotty though would be my only complaint.

We started off on a tour asking the neighbors for a bike to rent and they took us to a beach east about an hour called Pantai Segara. You can rent a bike pretty easy around town for 100,000. Lucky for us they took us for free. The beach had lazing white sand, places to sit, and a cove full of blue fresh water. Check out the pics. We went late and didn’t get much sun but I did bring my mask which is advised to do on any of these little islands and wow. About 50 meters out and a straight drop off. I am sure the diving would be marvelous but I didn’t see any dive shops. But a straight drop off and beyond beautiful blue water.

This is tip top in town near the port. Basically you try and get prices if you want to go to the famous islands around such as the Bromsi’s Islands and surrounding islands near by. But man, you better have a big group or be loaded with money. They are not cheap. But the islands are supposed to be some of the best in Indonesia. So our trip got deterred and we just went another route.

We decided to rent a bike and try and head to Rani Island which is supposed to be fabulous as well. Well on our way we stoped at Samber beach and wow. Amazing color, trees, and just a paradise. We should have stayed here all day since we got caught in the rain three times but on our journey, we got to experience the most happiest people ever. More hands where flying up in the air than a church Sunday from everyone saying hello and waving at us. Just an amazing day with the biggest smiles on people’s faces. Truly unforgettable.

It was a great Sunday with everyone shaking our hands and blessing us as they bring our hands to their foreheads. The people were ecstatic to see us.

Driving along and when you cross the rivers going out to the seas, this is what you see. Pure beauty. 💯

You couldn’t imagine just how many kids you seen that were beyond happy and playing all day long just like kids should.

Check out this waterfall. It was like a bowl of water just running overboard. Amazing site.

The jungle was everywhere all over the island especially on the north part. Check these short clips out. Amazing hills of green.

The last place we went was Pantai Batu Picah. OMG 😮 wow. This place was like an angel made it own personal waterfall fish pond from fresh spring water running into different pools into the ocean. Breathtaking. Marvelous. A must see.

This video clip below is mind blowing. I am in the north and the video start looking to the east where you can see a beam of light or a shadow off the water which is on the east side. It is 5:00 pm. I finish the video looking in the west side where the sun is setting. Creative or something is going on. I have never seen anything like it.

Drove 170 km for 11 hours. Did a big circle and had a great time. The scenery was so pretty in so many places. But with bad weather and such short time, we did what we could. This island is definitely worth the visit though. We our glad we came and so many people in Papua told us about it. One day it will be famous, but for now with you being the only foreigner on the whole island, I’d call it paradise.
